What can I do when deposits or withdrawals are suspended?
CoinEx may temporarily suspend deposit or withdrawal services under certain circumstances. The duration of the suspension will depend on the situation. During the suspension period, you can still deposit and withdraw using other available blockchains on CoinEx. Meanwhile, you can stay updated on the wallet service status through the following methods:
1. Click HERE to check the wallet status.
2. Set a resumption reminder on the deposit or withdrawal page.
Your deposits or withdrawals may be delayed during the suspension period. They will typically be processed automatically after the service resumes. If your transaction is still pending after service resumption, please submit a ticket to contact us.
Why are deposit or withdrawal services suspended?
1. Network Upgrade
Network upgrades are typically initiated by the project team to improve blockchain performance, reduce gas fees, or fix technical bugs. In such cases, CoinEx will suspend deposit and withdrawal services for that blockchain until the upgrade is complete and the network is stable again.
2. Hard Fork
To protect your funds during a hard fork, we need to temporarily suspend wallet services until it's clear which chain will be the dominant blockchain for broadcasting transactions. This ensures your assets remain secure throughout the fork process.
3. Smart Contract/Token Migration
Smart contract migration is the process of replacing old smart contracts with new ones on the blockchain network. Token migration, also known as a token swap, is when a token is transferred from one blockchain to another. If a smart contract or token migration is required, we will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals for the affected cryptos until the migration is completed.
4. Token Delisting
Prior to delisting a crypto, CoinEx will release an announcement ahead of time and gradually terminate deposits and withdrawals for that crypto.
5. Airdrop Snapshot
CoinEx will pause deposits and withdrawals for specific crypto during an airdrop snapshot to guarantee all user balances are reflected precisely for fair distribution. Services will resume after assets have been airdropped.
Please refer to CoinEx Announcements: Assets - Project Maintenance for further details.
In addition to the scenarios above, CoinEx can stop deposits and withdrawals if a project has security issues or the market is highly volatile.
