What is a Trading Password?
A trading password is a 6-digit numeric code required to ensure the security of your account funds before placing an order. Once set, you will need to enter it for crypto swapping, spot trading, and futures trading. However, it is not required for strategic trading, API trading, or other types of transactions.
Notes:
1. Sub-accounts and main accounts share the same trading password and activation status; independent trading passwords for sub-accounts are not currently supported..
2. After successfully verifying your trading password, you do not need to verify it again for transactions within 30 minutes.
How to set a trading password?
1. Visit the CoinEx official website (https://www.coinex.com) via your browser. Log in and click your avatar icon in the upper right corner, then select [Security Settings] from the dropdown menu.
2. Under "Advanced Settings," find “Trading Password” and click [Set].
Note: You must enable at least one two-factor authentication (2FA) tool.
3. Obtain and enter the email verification code, then click [Next].
4. Select any available 2FA method (e.g., Authenticator/TOTP verification/SMS) for verification, then click [Next].
Notes:
(1) If the current 2FA tool is unavailable, click [Switch Verification Method] to use an available 2FA tool.
(2) If all 2FA tools are unavailable, click [Security Verification Unavailable?] to reset your security tools, then proceed to set your trading password.
5. Enter your 6-digit trading password, confirm it again, and click [Confirm].
6. After completing these steps, your trading password will be set successfully.
Note: The trading password will be enabled by default once set.
How to enable or disable the trading password?
1. Enable trading password
Click the toggle button to enable the trading password. A pop-up will display “Trading password enabled successfully.”
2. Disable trading password
(1) Click the toggle button next to Trading Password.
(2) Obtain and enter the email verification code, then click [Next].
(3) Select any available 2FA method (e.g., Authenticator/TOTP verification/SMS) for verification, then click [Next].
Notes:
- If the current 2FA tool is unavailable, click [Switch Verification Method] to use an available 2FA tool.
- If all 2FA tools are unavailable, click [Security Verification Unavailable?] to reset your security tools, then proceed to set your trading password.
(4) After completing the above steps, your trading password will be disabled.
How to reset the trading password?
1. Click [Change] next to Trading Password.
2. Obtain and enter the email verification code, then click [Next].
3. Select any available 2FA method (e.g., Authenticator/TOTP verification/SMS) for verification, then click [Next].

- If the current 2FA tool is unavailable, click [Switch Verification Method] to use an available 2FA tool.
- If all 2FA tools are unavailable, click [Security Verification Unavailable?] to reset your security tools, then proceed to set your trading password.
4. Enter your new trading password, confirm it again, and click [Confirm].
5. After completing the above steps, your trading password will be successfully changed.
