What is Spot Average Cost?
The spot average cost refers to the “average buying price” of the cryptocurrencies held in your spot account, reflecting the average price of these assets. Simply put, it indicates the cost incurred to acquire each unit of your currently held assets.
How is Average Cost Calculated?
1. The calculation of average cost is affected by events such as on-chain deposits, spot buy orders, swap, small asset conversion, airdrops, mining, transfers between main and sub-accounts, inter-user transfers, etc.
2. Average Cost Calculation = (Previous Position × Previous Average Cost + Newly Added Position × Average Cost of Newly Added Position) ÷ (Previous Position + Newly Added Position)
Note:
(1) The stablecoins (USDT/USDC) are not included in the average cost calculation.
(2) The data for average cost will be calculated starting from [2024-08-07].
3. Example: User A holds BTC in his spot account
| Event | BTC Market Price (USDT) | Position (BTC) | Average Cost (USD) |
| Deposited 2 BTC | 90,000 | 2 | 90,000 |
| Bought 1 BTC spot | 80,000 | 3 | (90,000 * 2 + 80,000 * 1) / (2 + 1) = 86,666.67 |
| Sold 1 BTC spot | 85,000 | 2 | 86,666.67 |
| Received 0.5 BTC via airdrop | 85,000 | 2.5 | (86,666.67 * 2 + 0 * 0.5) / (2 + 0.5) = 34666.67 |

FAQ
Q1: Why does my average cost show “--”?
The average cost will display “--” when your holding quantity of the asset is 0 or the asset is a stablecoin.
Q2: How long does it take for the average cost to update after a new transaction?
The average cost will update in real-time when the system detects an increase in spot balance. If not reflected immediately, it may be due to system caching. Please wait and try again later.
Q3: Why does the average cost differ from what I expected?
The calculation of average cost takes into account the time sequence of transactions, exchange rate fluctuations, and trading fees. The estimates are based on data over a certain period and are for reference only.
